What a race — Verstappen is definitely not a Grandma (though a lot of feminists maybe pretty insulted)! I am very happy for him — The Merc cars are just in a league of their own, its time an underdog car takes 1P!

• I realized, at least according to the telegraph article that the race started at 2:10pm…. So the race would have been approx. 50mins in one Time Pillar before it moves to the next. The (1–3pm) time pillar is a lot less dramatic.
• I really liked this article, it had almost minute-by-crucial event-minute commentary. May allow seeing the tides turn as the luck hour changes.

Key Thoughts

• When I saw Bottas qualified 1P, I had a feeling that the MS would rob him of his 1P — and it did. He ended up in 3P. Additionally, comparing his to Hamilton’s 3–5pm time pillar, Bottas had no support, MS and Hellgate. It was not his day, whilst Hamilton had support from the perfect requirement.
• Continuing on — Okay, I am still of the opinion a Bad Horse would rob Hamilton off First Place, but this race proves — he can still be on the podium (I had a lot of second thoughts on putting him on 4P). Nonetheless, Hamilton is just that skilful, lucky and the Merc car is in a league of its own. I would love to see Hamilton and Verstappen battle it out in equal cars.
• Hulkenberg performed better than I had expected despite me identifying a HG day — I guess spilling from 3P to 7P was heartbreaking enough. I feel he should get signed to race next year.
• Kvyat and Gasly outperformed by expectations, both had HG days.
• Gionivazzi and Russell underperformed from my predictions, both had D1s.
• Magnussen’s DNF… I have no firm explanation — except, does the Empty Horse hollow him out? According to Magnussen’s chart, he has a majority of his requirements — however, I am of the opinion he is looking high-and-low for the first. The day was too cold for him, and the final time was also very cold. Chart temperature wise, if did not suit him at all.
• I think the MS caused Ricciardo to fall far behind from where he starts, the change in time also brought HG and Great Defeated horse. The last time he had that combination he did not finish.
